It often occurs to me that we have many charities and they are all pulling in different directions. Would it be more beneficial to each charity to all pull in one direction? Should that direction be Universal Basic Income?

We have so many charities asking for money at the moment. Asking people that have lost income and worried about their future income.

If we had UBI, suicide would reduce, so charities like the @samaritans would need less resource.

If we had UBI in place a charity would need less funding.
Homeless charities and food banks would immediately have less need for donations, as demand for their services would immediately reduce. @BigIssue could survive without needing street vendors.

Crime would reduce, so police force’s resources would be less stretched, and the charities that help with victims of crime, like rape and domestic abuse, would be able to help more people, or give more help to each individual. So helping @RapeCrisisEandW and @RefugeCharity

At the moment, people are very concerned and stressed about the future.
With UBI, that stress be massively reduced, so they would have more time and capacity to think about the things that matter to them.

With UBI, people would volunteer.
Zero Suicide Alliance @Zer0Suicide would have more people willing to take their training and willing to talk to others.
6/14
Health charities like @MEActNetUK would still need funding, but would there be more people with the correct expertise willing to work for them? Instead of having to work at jobs they are not passionate about, and not having time to study their passion,
7/14
they would be able to give all of their energy to that passion. Which for some would be to study the diseases that matter to them. Like Dr Ronald Davis who's son suffers from M.E.

With UBI, the charity @dignityindying, which I am passionate about, would not only have more time from volunteers willing to campaign, but I believe it would also give more time to others to hear why they are campaigning.

Even animal charities like the @RSPCA_official, @ScottishSPCA and @RSPBEngland would be helped with UBI. As people would be able to follow their passion of caring for animals.

Funding charities does help, but isn’t it better to be able to give more time and capacity to the people that want to help those charities?
As the economy is going to be massively affected by the current crisis, don’t we need UBI now more than ever?

So should we be trying to persuade as many charities as possible that if we join together in one common goal it will help them reach their individual goals quicker? If you do think that, contact your favourite charity and ask them to consider supporting UBI 1st.

If you are not sure if UBI would help your favourite charity, send me their details, and I will try to work out if/why it would.

And I’ve realised I totally missed of Climate Change. UBI would have such a positive aspect by giving everybody time and energy. So they won’t be forced to do anything that damages the environment.
People can quit the job they have to commute to by car.

And UBI would increase the amount of time everyone had available to campaign to combat climate change.
So @GeorgeMonbiot and @XRebellionUK, would you join in with UBI 1st so we can all go in one direction, to enable you to reach your goals quicker?
