Oh no, they used Supernatural as an example!!! Supernatural boasts a massive fanfic and stan community in general, so it makes sense to incorporate into reporting, but now we& #39;re introducing people to Wincest. The New York Times readers are not prepared.
DMCA takedowns over original work that& #39;s just recontexualized fanfic continues to send me. Most of the fanfic-inspired works that end up on Amazon (and make a good deal of money) are just fanfic based on existing IP with names/locations/settings changed.
