today's train of thought: if bakugou and kirishima met back in middle school, bakugou would have thought kirishima's quirk was useless because he could only slightly toughen his skin, and kirishima would have hated bakugou for the bully that he was.

they would not have gotten along!! instead, what happened? they met when kirishima was stronger and more confident, and when bakugou was more willing to let a genuine friend in his life.

(ironically, what else happened? in middle school, kirishima saw bakugou, on the news, fight against a villain and was inspired by it. so he saw a version of bakugou that was good for him then, and even without meeting bakugou, bakugou made him better.)

but okay, the point to all this is - THEY MET AT THE RIGHT TIME. fuckin poetic
