This is my observation after receiving his latest newsletter. And also tasks for my personal blog too.
Thread

1/ I'll start with his strongest message.
"People are busy. Don't redirect them. Wow them."
I used to drop links on several platforms, hoping ppl will come. But ppl are busy. Myself included. I can't expect them to be different.
T: Post your blog CONTENT on those platforms!

2/ I've noticed this one in the the mailing list header. It goes with previous. People are busy. Let them know how much time they need to consume your content
T: Add this to your newsletter!

3/ One more thought on providing copy of your content on several platforms.
People usually go to some platform with a thoughts to spend some time THERE.
Think about yourself when you decide to "check what's up on twitter". You're not like "check what links are shared on tw"

4/ To generate traffic from those platforms/communities, you need to add value and be recognised as a value giver. You can't just pop in, drop links, and hope that internet mechanism will drive traffic to your blog.
T: Become more active in communities where you plan to engage.

5/ Don't spread your focus. You can't be EVERYWHERE. You can't be awesome in every community. Narrow down options.
50 retweets is more powerful than 1 user sharing on 50 platforms
T: Reduce options to share your blog article. Maybe you don't need Linkedin or Reddit share?

6/ Different communities - different behaviors.
Don't expect to write once and copy-paste everywhere. On short-attention-spans platforms (like facebook) create visuals, share pictures
T: Prepare a visual template including your site/twitter handle.

7/ Let them recognise your value and they will come. Just make sure you leave a trail where they can find you!
8/ Make sure all your actions points to the same place. For example twitter thread.
If you gather all the fish in one net, it's easier to collect it at the end of the day. Imagine like you have 50 small fish nets in 2km radius and every night you have to check.

8a/ just an extension to fish analogy
If all your catch is in one place, you can figure out if you have plenty for dinner in no time.
On the other hand you need walk to different places to see if there's any catch, you're spending way too much time, not sure if you'll even eat
