/ In my experience, @NNSANews and the national labs are among the most remarkable parts of our Government. Amazing, brilliant people who serve the national interest.
/ But I would have said the same about @CDCgov, and look at how they screwed up #coronavirus testing ( https://apnews.com/c335958b1f8f6a37b19b421bc7759722)">https://apnews.com/c335958b1... and, somehow, even accounting ( https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2020/05/cdc-and-states-are-misreporting-covid-19-test-data-pennsylvania-georgia-texas/611935/).

/ In other words, government systems that have been built over generations to solve hard scientific and engineering problems can -- demonstrably -- be undermined by bad White House leadership very, very quickly, leading to dangerous and avoidable failures.
/ All of which to say: resuming nuclear testing is a terrible idea. Attempting a “rapid test” under the leadership of the ideologically anti-science, corrupt, and highly politicized Trump Administration is flat out terrifying. https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/trump-administration-discussed-conducting-first-us-nuclear-test-in-decades/2020/05/22/a805c904-9c5b-11ea-b60c-3be060a4f8e1_story.html">https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-...
/ The grifters should not explode a nuclear weapon.
