Most startling thing about whole Cummings Covid fiasco is the reminder of how bafflingly hopeless they all are. He's presented as some sort of shadowy mastermind but is just a nerd who broke electoral rules to bombard not very bright racists with Facebook ads. Hardly Machiavelli.

Also, were he in Italy, Cummings could be charged with spreading an epidemic (article 438 of the penal code). It carries a life sentence.

People are apparently still shocked by this whole Cummings debacle. The current government and hangers on are a bunch of venal, amoral charlatans with no concept of empathy or duty, and a sneering disrespect for the public. The whole thing is entirely in character, I’d say.

Not Machiavelli at all, you see, just an arrogant, banal, tedious, selfish prick who cares for nothing but hanging onto his job and is wasting everyone's time in the process. What a pisspoor spineless government this is.
