We didn't always agree w/our farmer colleagues, but we built a foundation of mutual trust & respect & arrived at a better solution for farm workers. Today, these relationships are the backbone of our effort to fight hunger & food scarcity issues worsened by CV-19 in our district.

When we visited Maureen Torrey of Torrey Farms in Genessee County last year, I heard directly from farmers and farmworkers —I even planted onions!

Now, Torrey Farms is one of our biggest food donors. This week, we distributed 7680 lbs of those onions!
