we have seen the «denying larry proof» or «why larry isn’t real» threads. this is not a thread denying larry. this is a thread of why you shouldn’t ship it. im not telling you to stop shipping, but rather asking you to think twice and telling you why it’s toxic.
1. the contract theory is very problematic.
larries believe that louis and harry are forced to stay in the closet because of a contract. first off, this is impossible because of «the equality act». secondly, in 2010, harry was 16 so he couldn’t have signed it himself.

by then believing this theory, you’re implying that harry’s parents signed a contract which allows their son to be discriminated for his sexuality. you’re also saying that harry is still forced to hide his sexuality, which he’s not.
and let’s say that this theory actually is true, why would you want that? do you want your faves to be forced to live and discriminated like this? you should be glad that they’re not. harry is out as a non-labeling man, as happy as he’s ever been. louis is straight and has a gf.
2. its highly disrespectful for multiple reasons. the first thing is the unhealthy obsession with their sexualities and fetishizing mlm. L obviously thought it was important enough for him to state that he is straight to tweet about it. for this reason you should respect that.
LGBTQ+ members gets bullied, thrown out of their own homes and worse bc of their sexuality. its not a guessing game for you to play when you constantly try to prove L being anything else than cishet. also the «proofs» of him being gay are borderline homophobic stereotypes.
a boy being close with his friend, a boy being flamboyant or feminime, a boy having his wrist in a certain angle is not proof the boy being gay. let boys hug each other and show love w/o romantizing it. they were in the same band ffs ofc they’re going to be close.
the second reason of why its disrespectful is that it makes them uncomfortable and they also think its disrespectful towards their loved ones. grown men having mostly younger girls writing smutty fanfics about them and attacking their family members can’t be a nice thing.
thirdly its disrespectful towards their music. larries constantly tries to connected their songs with each other and completely ignores the fact that those songs are written about important personal expiriences that does NOT involve a fake ship. L has talked about how his songs
are about Eleanor. H literally put a voicemail by his girlfriend at the end of Cherry. when listening to the song you can clearly tell it‘s a personal song, also the fact that he said he wrote it during the night and felt way better after writing it down. he always talks about
how writing songs is kind of like therapy to him. he put his heart and soul into his songs, and yes its open to interpration, but completely ignoring an artist writing about something really personal and making it all about your ship is when you’re crossing the line.
i would talk more about smuts, edits, sending hate to Louis’s child and both L and H’s partners, but i won’t because i know not all larries are like that. this thread is mostly about the larry theory as a whole, and what certain larries do doesn’t really have anything to w it.
just know that THIS is not okay, and larries are the only ones doing it. Eleanor also has to have her comments off because she’s getting so much hate. louis loves her and his child and you should be happy for your fave. this goes for harry and his future partner and family too.
again this is not telling you to stop shipping, but if you read through this and you still want to ship then idk what your morals are. if you didn’t even think once «maybe its not a good idea to ship» then know that we wont get along. its 2020, they have denied it. think about it
to every larry quoting this and calling me obsessed: i dont care. i’d rather be «obsessed» than being ignorant and disrespectful towards harry, louis, their loved ones, their music and the lgbtq+ community.
