#LivedExperiencePractitioners thread! Lots of people ask what #LXPs do. The prob with the field of experiential working is that there is a whole range of posts, different skillsets - but not an agreed standardised language. So can ppl respond to this with what they do as an LXP?
I’ll start off... the term #LivedExperiencePractitioner was first coined in @OxleasNHS when it was felt that #PeerSupportWorker didn’t adequately cover the range of work people in lived experience posts did, to differentiate it from support worker roles and be seen as a >
>profession in its own right. @JapleenOxleas can shed more light on this. When we did the #LivedExperiencePractitioners Research Study, @melanieanneball, Fiona & I used it as an umbrella term to cover any type of experiential lens working, ie PSWs, SU Consultants, SU Researchers>
> basically ANY role that used LX within it. So it would be great as part of this thread if people could add their LX role, what it covers, the skill set needed, etc. It’s like nursing covers a range from unqualified/support/student/general/specialised/consultant/director etc >
