In the "Programming Parallel Computers" course, we had weekly online lectures. The students were free to watch the videos whenever they wanted, but it seems most of them followed the recommendation of watching the videos at the beginning of each week (statistics from YouTube):
On the other hand, Slack was used actively every day. We had in total 200 users who posted at least one message on the Slack!
And when are our students solving exercises? Here is an example of one task, IS4, where the deadline for getting full points was at the end of week 4. Live statistics here: http://ppc.hli.fi/
