The argument that companies should get a bailout because "the shutdown wasn't their fault" is nonsense.
Thousands of firms went out of business in 2008, and most of them didn't cause the housing bubble.
Nor did many of those who faltered after 2001 cause DotCom bubble
Business cycles aren't the fault of any individual firm, usually. Yet their fates are decided by it.
Prudent firms have contingencies in place to survive downturns.
Where specific orders have been made to shutter industries, like international travel, that's obviously different. But where companies where not specifically ordered to shut, I don't see why they should be kept afloat.
