/8 I absolutely deplore the abusive behavior towards @dennyking and Dr. Morrison, @InfoPEI @Health_PEI . But not all of what appears to be a solid majority of Islanders who hate the decision on cottagers is a Twitter troll. You owe us a better justification. #covid19pe
/8 Everything you asked us to do before was to keep others and ourselves safe, and we accepted it, because you explained it clearly and we could understand the logic, and forgive a misstep like the liquor stores. You did a great job and kept us safe.
/8 We have been going through an agonisingly slow reopening while we test and make sure we can really prevent an outbreak and control it *when* it occurs. We accept that.
/8 Now you want us to do something fundamentally new - *accept* risk for the sake of others, others who to many of us looks like they just want to take an elective vacation, which doesn& #39;t seem essential. We got lucky with returning residents. Not 0 risk.
/8 Why is this risk justified on top of a slow, phased opening? Is it about taxes? Just level with us. Fabric of our communities and so on, but I and many Islanders aren& #39;t feeling it.
/8 Also, onboarding visitors is a service that uses the same resources as for repatriating residents, aiding essential traffic and handling a potential outbreak. We need a better explanation of why we can afford the resources towards this right now.
