~The We Must Love choreography commentary thread~

Since some smart fuses already came up with great theories about the storyline I'll just link them here and instead focus on the technical aspect of the performance, what the move choices express, how the choreography relates to the lyrics and to the original wml choreo
Theories!! I agree with a lot of this

The beginning part when Yooa is controlling the dolls is so well done! The members' moves must watch hers perfectly in order to give the effect that she's indeed pulling their limbs and they really do, look closely at how Yuto and Yooa move together
The full group rotation is so satisfying, it's so hard to so a dull group slow rotation like that and match everyone's speed but it's such a mesmerizing effect
J-tion's part fits the lyrics really well

Changyoon sings 'Did we lose our memories?' in a soft questioning tone and then Seungjoon steps on the chair facing him and says 'The two of us'
It feels like they're connected but they can't actually reach each other
'In our past or in our future or maybe in a different world?'

Their movements are not mirrors to each other but rather they're doing the same choreo to different sides. Their chairs are turned away from each other, they're in the same place but in a different world
They're both looking for the same thing, they have the same feelings but can't get through to each other.

The only mirrored move they do is this one! As if they're able to see each other for a second.
After seeing each other they dash forward to go to the opposite side to the one they started out on. Changyoon gets on Seungjoon's chair and vice versa. They're reaching all the way to the other's world trying to find each other but tragically, no matter what, they can never meet
Their chairs slipped a bit when they did that. Applying so much force to an object that his not well adhered to the floor is so scary, I'm glad there weren't any accidents
The conductor part is meant to introduce Hyojin. Rather than seeing him as a special powerful doll, I feel like different members represent different aspects of this tragic love story. Hyojin represents confidence and hope that their love can work out against all odds.
'I'm going to become your everything, you'll know once a little time passes'

Just like she controlled them in the beginning, he controls the other dolls, showing that in that short time the ONF dolls have awakened, they also have power.
He's confidently telling her that she has no choice but to love him and that he also has power over her heart, causing her to take off her mask and reveal her true feelings in the following part
The choreo Hyojin does for his solo part is actually quite similar to the original WML choreo. Both involve lots of elegant hand gestures and have the same overall confident, controlling and slightly smug vibe
Hyojin is controlling the dancers, making then turn into a group of string players and a piano and then turns around to start conducting for them, this part of the choreo is so cool and creative!
The part that didn't get aired until we got her fancam! Yooa throws her mask away, showing herself to the dolls and has a couple dance with Seungjoon, this is a really important moment story-wise because it reveals her feelings
The hand holding move they did reminds me of the Why choreography. I don't think it's necessarily a reference but it's just something I noticed
She tries to leave but he holds onto her, saying 'You must love me'
This is such a dramatic moment, goosebumps
The first move she does looks like a variation of the twml chorus choreography!
Yuto's part also matches the lyrics perfectly!

'It may seem like these monstrous realities keep growing and will crash on top of you'

The dancers represent the realities that are trying to grab onto him and he really crashes on top of them in the end
Can we talk about this slide? Mr. Yuto you're so smooth and have such great control
'But it doesn't matter, hide behind me'

Hyojin is once again being the strong one, commanding the dancers who were just presented as monstrous realities to get away, he's denying reality, he's 'stronger in the face of sadness' because he is the representation of hope
This move really reminds me of the original We Must Love choreography
The formation here looks like a beating heart!
Pay close attention to how the violin playing choreography matches the violin in the music! (unless Twitter desynchronizes the audio) Stunning!!
The most powerful and by far coolest part of the choreography! Kinda sad they didn't air it because they aired the MK closeup. This part is originally Seungjoon's but MK sings it here instead. I would guess it's because they wanted Seungjoon to participate in the cool choreo part
Wyatt's isolations!! So cool, he's so good
The barrel jump!!!

Out of everyone I liked how Changyoon did it the most! Look at the position of his arms compared to everyone else! As well as the height of his jump, the position he hits in the air is one where both his legs are folded and up in the air
The arm position is not really fixed when it comes to jumps like this in street style choreography so it's up to personal preference, the way he chooses to do it is closer to the classic rendition of the move though
Yuto didn't get to do it in this performance but he usually does it the exact same way Changyoon does!

(I wonder if Changyoon got advice from him on how to make it look cooler)
