oh my god l the gwangahegun references are insane. when he says "yeah born a slave but now a king" because gwanghaegun's mum was a concubine. and there was no way the throne would have gone to him (but it did) given he had an older brother Imhae

there's a lot of controversey surrounding gwanghae in general, in the sense whether or not he was a good or a bad king. like till date historians argue if his pragmatic approach in handling the joseon-ming-manchu situation was apt or not

in a way like when yoongi begins with "daechiwta daechiwta play it loud daechwita" makes sense if you look at at the gwanghae references, because his pragmatic approach towards politics earned him disrespect from the court , not to mention the tide turned rapidly against him+

so his cry for the daechiwta to play loud sort of signifies gwanghae's need to be taken as the king seriously. i mean this could simply be yoongi's own artistic take and projection but still it works.
