D&D4e created real opportunities because it didn’t fix problems the majority had, in fact it created new ones around compatibility, and so it created opportunity to continue D&D 3.5 that others could exploit. D&D 5e closed that opportunity down.

So the question to ask is: what problem do I solve for folks who are in the majority, either because of mechanics, or access to a setting, that means they will pull my solution.

It's no use moaning at the majority for not looking at other games, figure out what problem you solve for them.

And then you need the marketing to tell them you exist and can solve their problem, but that is a different issue, and perhaps harder.
