Great video by @BenSullins on using solar, Powerwall and time of use electricity tariffs to lower your bills. It’s basically the same setup I’ve got and I love that today @octopus_energy pricing is almost -10p/kWh at times as it’s a sunny windy day

2/ but there’s a problem with the billing in the UK. Since changing to @octopus_energy Agile tariff last December they haven’t managed to bill me for any electricity usage but I’m still paying £199 a month because that’s based on my pre-solar energy usage

3/ I contacted @octopus_energy as my bill at the end of April had up to date gas charges but no electricity since 23rd December. They said they were working on it but not when they would resolve it. Meanwhile I am £1129 in credit and still paying £199/month

4/ I’m certain that this problem lies with the smart metering system and not with @octopus_energy themselves but while I’m celebrating getting paid for using electricity on Agile, I’m not seeing those savings and I’m basically just paying what I was before.

5/ so @g__j I’m a big fan of @octopus_energy and Agile but I do need this sorted out please otherwise it’s a pointless waste of time and money. Disappointing that the smart metering system is letting us down when all the tech exists to do this really well.
