Tidying up my work space that seems to be in a permanent state of mess during the lockdown.
Dug out these DVD/blu rays featuring the work of Jean Giraud Moebius so I thought that I would share.

Obviously there are other films that have his fingerprints on them.
“Metamoebius.” Made for the Moebius retrospective Transe-Forme exhibition. A year before his passing.
les Maitres du Temps (Time Masters) 1982. Storyboarded and designed by Meobius.
The director René Laloux also directed one of my favourite animated films “Savage Planet” (aka Fantastic Planet).
“Arzak Rhapsody” 2003. All episodes of the animated Moebius TV show set in the fantastical dream-like ‘Desert B.’
“Jodorowsky’s Dune” 2013. Featuring a ton of Moebius concept art and storyboards for this ill fated adaptation of the famous book.
“Moebius Redux” 2007. German TV produced in-depth look at the life and work of Moebius. This two disc set features a ton of extra material and interviews with Moebius and Dan O’Bannon.
You can the main documentary film on YouTube but it is a hugely cut down version.
There are other films that Moebius worked on as a concept artist (or inspired by his work) - The Abyss, Tron, Willow etc.

But if I had to choose one it would be his work and the inspiration/tone for Ridley Scott’s “ALIEN.”

PS - that 4K disc cover seen here is shite!
Scott (a huge fan of Moebius and credits him for his interest in sci-fi) would later revisit Moebius abandoned ALIEN concept art for his astronaut suit in “The Martian.”
