Well Mrs Moog and I (mainly Mrs Moog TBF) struggled through it as best we could because there was no alternative available under the rules and we refused to put others at risk.

It was really shit. https://twitter.com/johnredwood/status/1264105301290213377
At one point we tried to work out a plan B. Who could we ask to help if Mrs Moog’s symptoms got worse?

We concluded that, unless we were both completely unable to look after Mini-Moog (i.e., could literally not get him food or get up at all to watch him), there was no Plan B.
We couldn’t ask any of our friends to put themselves or their families at risk. We’d just have to take shifts, with whoever was least unwell at any point giving the other a rest.
We talked about how we’d explain it to 3 1/2 year old Mini Moog, and how he’s a good kid who would do his best (and probably be happy at watching telly all day).

Then we had a real bit of despair for a few minutes, and Mrs Moog said “right then” and went and made lunch.
Her symptoms thankfully did not get much worse. We’re not special or strong or anything. We’re lucky that we knew we could order meals in if needed.
Countless people have had to have these conversations though, and much, much worse, and still managed to stick to the rules for the good of others
