Downing Street’s first on the record response to our story that Dominic Cummings broke lockdown rules 👇🏼👇🏼
So he admits he travelled to Durham *before* he was ill with coronavirus - or needed childcare.

He felt it was “highly likely” that he’d get the disease since wife had it.

But that’s not necessarily the case. You can be holed up for 14 days with patient & not suffer at all.
Also, even if he didn’t have symptoms, his wife absolutely did. And the Government advice states that if any member of your family has symptoms, you must self-isolate at home. Not jump straight into a car and travel 260 miles to the other end of the country.
No 10 also appears to be suggesting that @DurhamPolice is lying - and that they didn’t talk to his family as we reported.

But the police said: “Officers explained to the family the guidelines around self-isolation and reiterated the appropriate advice around essential travel”.
