The âmachineâ is only as good as the data collected. To not acknowledge the incompetence from Ontarioâs Ford govt, the festering stink coming from Washington, conservatism has become toxic. People arenât easily swayed by targeted robocalls, YouTube ads...
This is the problem Iâve seen with Canadian media pundits. So lost in their clouds floating above the populace, still believing political spin is the unbeatable ground game. Itâs why I no longer watch Power & Politics. Itâs language from 10 yrs ago
Read the exchanges, then remember, CIMS is just a data collecting file cabinet. Any person a conservative riding assoc has contact with their names, (kids/job/politics) is entered. They use it for targeted ads, fundraising..hopefully not what I experienced, vote suppression
People have spent the last 3years inundated by duct cleaning calls, memes, scam calls, phishing. Then watching the mess in the states. That âmagic hookâ of CIMS data spin didnât work, also because Canadian conservative leader was a smirk machine of mayonnaise & a fraud
When Canadian conservatism tumbled off the cliff, was when PM Harper had his campaign event w/Rob Ford. Bowing down to the populism he saw rising The populism of idiots, motivated by memes.. years later, it all seems so obvious. Yet not to the check-marked pundits
What is so personally amusing, is back in 2012, trying to get media to believe in how data collecting was being used for vote suppression. I remember speaking to one of the journos in that thread. He couldnât believe that robocall targeted vote suppression would sway an election. âThatâs so small, itâd have no effectâ, he said. I tried to explain the math of poll data, only a few votes in each needed suppression.
He shrugged, followed the conservative line that it was all one enthusiastic staffer. So now, he wonders why the great CIMS machine didnât work? Work in what? Vote suppression?
