idk how to tell cis bi people this but. when people are talking about the violence and danger they face when they’re visibly gay and/or trans**, maybe! just maybe! read the room and reconsider complaining about how ~ hard ~ it is to be perceived as straight in passing

**the impact + concept of, being “straight-passing” vs being perceived on-sight as gay, trans, queer etc on a material level is complex, but it’s not hard to accept that you don’t face certain dangers as a cis** bi person being w/ your non-same sex/gender partner.

so yes, heteronormativity, homophobis is a Giant Bastard but it’s bastardry manifests many was that don’t actually “oppress” or target cis (esp white) bi people in the way they think it does, and yet somehow they end up at the center of every discussion on heteronormativity

** and again! race and gender play massive factors in this, which the bi people who wax poetic about the difficulties of being straight passing privilege consistently ignore (unsurprising considering it’s regularly cis, white bi people dragging the topic up over + over)

(not equating the two situations exactly ofc, but i get similar vibes from cis bi people who do the above that i do from yt-passing mixed race Black people, who bring up how ~ HARD ~ it is to be yt-passing when visibly Black people discuss the racism + violence they face

like... do y’all ever think that now maybe isn’t the time. @ cis bi people - again, looking esp @ white cis bi people - who drag up the same worn-out points, still completely devoid of context.... does it ever occur to you to just? Think? Listen? Learn?
