Why is all of #Twitter saying that #WFH is the new rule because of COVID-19.

CEOs, experts, etc. are all into this as if #COVIDー19 is the end of the world.

Has it ever occurred to us that, something else might somehow happen like 5/13 years from now that may flip things again?
Thought #1

《Nobody actually likes working from home》

- Personalised working env& #39;t
- Flexible working hours

If there were ways to efficiently put them in place at the office, folks& #39;d like office more. Coz sitting at your desk & doing the work are 2 different things.
Thought #2

《"WFH increases focus" isn& #39;t always the case》

- Cooking for yourself
- Watching kids
- Chores
- Mix of work and life
- A lot of work calls, emails, etc.

These can be challenging when you work from home. Distractions are limitless at home. It isn& #39;t always as fun.
Thought #3

《Either loniliness or chaos》

You& #39;re either too alone or with too many people to handle while working. Company (being with others) matters.

It isn& #39;t always the case but when it is, it might cost both the employee and the employer a lot.
Thought #4

《COVID-19 isn& #39;t the end of the world》

Offices will stay and people will go back there. They& #39;re humans so they miss their colleagues.

More to that, there are things possible for a company to do only when its employees are together.

Eg: Maintaining company culture.
Thought #5

《Other stuff might happen. Who knows?》

- Aliens might fall
- St*pidity might soon be the new pandemic
- Hell, Elon might even move us to Mars https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🤷‍♂️" title="Man shrugging" aria-label="Emoji: Man shrugging">

Point is COVID won& #39;t define us forever. Sh!t will always happen like it did in past so we can& #39;t let fear drive us.
Disclaimer:

These are my own thoughts and they may change in future. I welcome rebuttals. I just don& #39;t think we should define life (including work life) with just one fact. Long term strategies sound better to me.

Even after SARS, folks were scared too. But didn& #39;t life go on?
