Expected a Scottish football shitshow from day one. We got it. However, professional clubs pushing a narrative of not fulfilling fixtures is something else. This is another unnecessary crisis — after email gate, reconstruction gate, dossier gate, lots of gates.
The Scottish government have laid out a plan this week for socially-distanced crowds in Q3-Q4 2020, subject to conditions. Austria will aim for 1000. Other countries will. All the meanwhile, we've got this self-perpetuating cycle of negativity. Absolutely rancid.
What you can guarantee: Clubs who actively push not fulfilling their fixtures in 2020 will want slices of the new TV deal and overall prize money. Not playing matches, at least in Tier 2, is not a solution. It shouldn't be entertained.
