That Nandi chat triggered a meltdown I had for not achieving my goals at 30. How I was almost sequestrated at 23 & lost my properties during the crash of 07/08. How i moved back home eBhisho, started from scratch at 24 with >R250k debt, depressed by 30 cos i hadn't achieved goals
How i looked as a failure against my peers when I was touted as one of the best of my grad class,to working my way to attain my 2nd qualification, climbing up the corporate ladder& having leaders of African banks relying on my expertise to navigate their operational environments!
While setting a certain age to attain one's goals is admirable, life will come at you sideways & if you've never been independent/grew up in money, u'll need no less than 3yrs to establish urself in any industry/ even to your authentic self!

"Life's a journey"
Having an opinion is not wrong, but using that opinion to judge others IS. Our journeys are different but if my lifestyle doesn't reconcile with my career & my conduct on the job isn't aligned, then my employer has every right to hold me to previously agreed standards of conduct.
If I had anyone tell me what Nandi is telling 18-25 year olds, my situation would've been worse as it would've confirmed failure & may have resulted in more harm.

The older you get, the more aware of your words you ought to be, especially if you are esteemed as celebrities.
None of what Nandi said was to encourage or constructively criticise. If u're wiser& richer, you ought to put those attributes to "good" use& that wasn't the case with her...Black youth needs inspiration, opportunuties, encouragement, support& not judgement!
