Currently, there are people who fly out of Australia, arrive in their home country, get a #covid19 test, and found positive. I imagine there& #39;s close to zero contact tracing of these cases from their time in Aus. We should strive for international cooperation on tracing. #auspol
I& #39;ve just called up DHHS. told switchboard that i needed to speak to a public health officer re: contact tracing procedures in Victoria. "OK just press 2 at the menu". I did. Its apparently the option for & #39;advice on social distancing& #39;. Going well so far.
I called up again just now. Explained what happened, and that I& #39;d like to speak to an actual officer/human re: my queries. They seemed to understand, which was nice. "I& #39;ll put you through!". Phone rings 3 times, aaaand engaged. Nice.
Luckily I work in a #COVID19 related job and went up to the office of a DHHS officer. They are not at all the relevant person to talk to regarding this, but very helpful. I’ve asked for the number of someone I can call. They’ll get back to me.
They did’t get back to me because they were v busy so I spoke to 2 other DHHS officers. I explained the entire situation. Both thought about it, said “that’s a great idea” followed by “no idea who to call..have you called the DHHS number?” I will now try a third time.
Called again, few menu options, got through to someone who suggested I drop an email to DHHS. Which isn& #39;t enthusing, but at least the email address doesn& #39;t look super generic. Finger crossed.
