Okay so, I'm dead finna spam the tl cuz I gotta type all this out cuz I refUSE to cry alone. So this will be the start of me spamming.
I'm debating rewatching the video first or just diving into the album. I'm thinking I'm gonna do album first and MV as a treat (again cuz I've been watching it all day).
So we're starting w Moonlight.

Moon-line come t h r u
I love when hip hop artists use scratching in their work. Cuz it feels so reminiscent of the origin of hip hop.

Yoongi starting off STRONG - but I expected nothing less 😌

This jazzy tone tho I'm in l o v e.
His voice cut into the track and I legit had to pause for a sec. WHY is this giving me 134340 vibes??? People kept saying the song was a skip but I knew that shit was a bop off rIP.

And we got her even sexier older sister right tf here in Moonlight.
For the record, I'm not looking at the meaning of the lyrics right now cuz I wanna vibe w the production first. That's how I understand music most efficiently.

Plus I get to use this as listening practice.

ANYWAYS YOONGI'S VOCALS THO.
He already blessed us w Seesaw and now we get Moonlight???? I'm so in love
We literally don't deserve.

His voice is just amazing. And his cadence, that fucking trumpet - *chefs kiss*.
Yeah this is a fave for sure. This is right up my fucking alley.

WAIT IS JUST CUT OFF????

YOONIE EDGING THE FANDOM LIKE THE BUTT HE IS I GOTTA STAN
Okay but 대취타 is next tho im----

IHAD TO PAUSE TO GET MY SHIT TGT CUZ JFC THIS SONG BEEN ON REPEAT IN MY HEAD ALL DAY.
IGHT LEGGO. YOONIE AINT RAISE NO BITCH.
G o d the instrumentation in this song yo. Jfc. I fucking love that - is it a flute or a pipe in the back at the beginning? Whatever, it's a wind instrument, I think. And I fucking love it.

Plus his goddamn fLOW.

OFC WE HAVE TO SALIVATE JFC.
Without the visuals of the MV smacking me in the face, the negative space in the first verse finally registered and it's honestly perfectly timed.

Cuz this song steals your breath from the very first drop. That negative space where he isn't saying anything gives us-
--all the chance to breathe.

I legit inhaled when he stopped spitting and I hadn't even realized I'd been waiting.

I've been listening to this song all day and he still caught me off guard.

I fucking love him wow.
I'm normally not a huge fan of autotune but the way he uses it in the chorus is honestly perfect. Cuz it isn't too much and it isn't obtrusive or overpowering.

The focus is still his voice and that flute.
HOMIE STARTED WHISPERING GOODNIGHT (okay just speaking more softly but STILL)
The way this song shook the windows in my car from the fucking bass tho-

Homie knew this is what I waNTED
What Do You Think is up next.
Yooooo the beat behind this open, ambient, vibrating sound tho -

And his fucking f l o w over this. GodDAMN
I already know this shit would slap in my car. I already know it would shake the fucking speakers.

'GO FUCK YOURSELF' A MOOD YOONGI JFC
The throwback to their debut in these lyrics tho i--

I fucking love him w o w. This man got a l o n g ass memory. He knows himself well.
The autotune is a bit more obtrusive but it isn't intolerable to be sure. He uses it well.

The amount of finesse and subtlety in his production tho jfc.
Yeahhhhh this is another fave. I already know. This song got me wanting to twerk when I don't know how to in the first place.
OH SHIT FT. RM IS UP NEXT
Okay so, the way you can tell Joonie was included in this based on the production tho.

The way their styles are distinctive as fuck but match together so seamlessly. Like they're parts of a whole.

Their synergy is truly amazing.

WE LOVE GENIUS ARTISTS MAKING MASTERPIECES.
This song feels like one of the pieces I played when I still played cello. Despite the beat and the rapping, the backing instrumentals feel like something from a music box. Or like a cousin to Canon in D (which is my favorite song to play on violin).
YO. OKAY. SO JOONIE'S VOICE WAS UNEXPECTEDLY A RELIEF???

Like okay, you know how chefs always talk about balance between flavors in their food???

Joonie is like balance for Yoongi in this song. Yoongi is an extremely overwhelming, overpowering artist just on his own.
And, somehow, Joonie - while still being as overwhelming - is overwhelming in a different way that balances w the flavor of Yoongi's work.

I'll have to explore this more wje I'm not taking in D-2 but jfc. What a realization.
Thinking about the songs exclusive to the rap line - their musical chemistry is honestly fucking jaw-dropping. Cuz I just realized Hobi had that same effect on both Yoongi AND Joonie - bringing balance.

The three of them work perfectly in tandem.
They're amazing on their own but they're also even more amazing together.

On a deep, musical, artistic level.

Jfc.

Okay lemme stop freaking out over this so I can listen more 🚶🏾‍♀️🚶🏾‍♀️

My melodramatic ass
Yoongi uses autotune in a way that is enough to he noticed but not too much.

The subtlety.

The finesse.

I love it when he uses it - and I fucking hate autotune.
THE DELICATE THEME BEHIND JOONIE'S VERSE THO????? THERE'S A SPECIFIC PART WHERE HIS BACKING TRACK IS A GLORIFIED MUSIC BOX AND???? YOONGI???? HELLO????
So okay this song reminds me vaguely of some of the music I already listen to (The Birthday Massacre and Emilie Autumn) there the instrumental is kinda delicate feeling w the exception of this harder element.
In the case of The Birthday Massacre and Emilie Autumn, their delicate instrumentals are balanced w that heavier hark rock/industrial/metal (idk how to qualify it) element.

In Yoongi's case, that delicacy is balanced w heavy trap/hip hop influence.
The w a y these softer and harder elements combine when handled by masters tho -

Yeah this is a fave too. Cuz the pure production alone is enough to leave me wanting more. Then their rapping on top of it??? Bitch I'm tHREW
Okay so 28 is next (I don't feel like spelling out the Korean name cuz I'm lazy atp)
Okay but that b o u n c e tho. Hot a nigga bopping and he ain't eem started frfr yet 🤣

Yoongi master producer wbk.

Pardon me while I throw my ass to this song. Poorly. But still.
The way in damn near certain at this halfway point that there are no skips on this album i-
Yoongi using his breath as instrumentation is always gonna be the hottest shit ever. Like, from a music nerd standpoint AND from a stan standpoint.
The way he cut through that swirl of vocals and ibstumentals at the beginning in the second verse by dropping everything and just using clean vocals tho- like FUCK.

He's like a Michelin star chef - master of balance.
The harmonies tho???

YOONIE REALLY SAID IMA BEAT THE INDUSTRY'S HEAD INTO THE GEOIN W MY VOCALS AND T H E N WHAT???
28 is DEF a fave.

But I've said that for every song on the album so far so maybe Yoonie himself is just a fave and wbk tbh.
Burn It is next. I have no clue who Max is. I'm sure one of my friends mentioned him before now but I haven't heard his music before.
Max's voice reminds me of the lead singer from Chase Atlantic.

WAIT BUT YOONGI USED AN OLD PHRASE FROM ONE OF HIS VERSES BEFORE NOW.

I HAVE TO FIGURE OUT - OUTRO TEAR. THAT'S IT. I KNEW I RECOGNIZED THAT LINE.
Max's vocals fit well w Yoongi's growl (he isn't growling, just the timbre of his voice)
This song I think isn't my favorite bUT it's not bad. It just feels flat somehow?

The production is amazing and Yoongi is amazing and Max's vocals are bomb too. Idk what it is. Maybe it feels too slow? Idk.

I like it just the same. Not a skip.
People is next and we already starting out strong w that production.
The backing female vocals on this song tho (im curious as to who did them) and Yoongi doing the mm-mm-mm bit.

Plus we get vOCALS????

Can Yoonie sing me to sleep pls??? I'm a good llama damnit, I deserve.
Then we cut back to this sickening fucking f l o w tho
The way he refuses to get off our nECKS THO
Yeah, 사람 is def a fave too. It has a pulse behind it that feels slow but doesn't drag. I love that. I love this song. I'm lowkey finna repeat it excuse-
WaIT - another song just came on. 혼술
OOP. WHY THIS SONG FEEL LIKE A HORROR MOVIE???
Yoongi's voice clears through it.

The song feels like it's trying to make you hold your breath - and it's working.
The song has me feeling like I have to wait and I'm still waiting. It feels like the song is almost intentionally slightly discordant. Like unsettling on purpose.

The backing track is different during the second verse and it's speeding the heart rate.
The way that second verse brought the song into greater focus. Why the fuck does this song feel like I'm cleaning my glasses cuz everything is blurry but it's taking a second to see clearly???

Masterful.

Fucking masterful.
I'm truly curious behind the lyrics for this song. It reminds me vaguely of Badbye (not cuz they sound the same but cuz they evoke that same waiting kind of energy).

I can't wait to read all of the lyrics and fully take it all in.
The interlude, Set Me Free, is next
The way I love Yoongi's vocals tho. His voice is so soothing just on general. Hearing him sing on his own work is truly a huge sign of growth.
This song feels so b IG.

Expansive and open in the best ways. Like Young Forever. As if you're looking out over a beautifully huge natural vista.

This song reminds me kinda of Blue Side cuz I want more of it. W a y more.
Dear My Friend is next and, while I've been mostly trying to ignore comments on the album, some random antis caught hold of a line in 대취타 that they wanted to crucify him for and this song was mentions often as a song for a friend who lost their battle against addiction.
I haven't read the lyrics yet but I wanna see how the song feels, just like everything else about this annoying ass thread.

I wanna see how the music hits me firsf then loon at the lyrics and analyze from there.
Wait--this is the last song. Why tf do I feel so sad now???

Whatever, finna run this shit from the top as soon as I finish.
ANYWAYS. ONWARD.

DEAR MY FRIEND, YOU'RE NEXT.
Okay, initial thought from the opening, it sounds like an anime song. Like a closing theme for fairy tail or something.

Ima keep listening (obv) but that's what I get from the guitar and earnest vocals and everything.
Okay, knowing the content of thks song vaguely, it's even more impactful. Even his flow is slower, more nostalgic, more wistful.
He wishes.

And you can feel him wishing in this song.

He wishes.

My heart is breaking.
Yoonie's vocals truly do remind me of Japanese music in some ways but that's cuz that's where I've heard that feeling the most.

The - holy shit that - idk the instrument.

W o w I'm inept.

But this song is a fave too.
I wish I could convey humming through tweets. Yall listened to the album. That piano (?) sound during the second verse softened his quicker flow beautifully.

Balance.

B a l a n c e.
Okay so that part after the second chorus where the backing teack kinda drops into this sound that feels like a stadium full of people clapping - that's so wholly Yoongi. Then it immediately cuts back to that soft instrumental track.
Yeah, this has brought me to tears.

The fucking feeling behind this song.

G o d-
I honestly wanna say Dear My Friend is the best song he's made to date that coukdltnbe wholly qualified as rap.

This is one of his best songs ever.

Jfc. God I'm sobbing, excuse me.
One sec
Okay so ima gather my thoughts and talk to my homies and I'll end this thread correctly.
