Catalina Curiosity Round II but this time on a clone of my system drive

Strange… No Mail issues. InDesign runs just fine. Also wow, running from a USB3 SSD is pretty snappy.

I'm still running off my Catalina USB drive, binge tweeting while sipping on wine. Don't think that's much of a stress test. Two cases when I binge tweet: being out and about, while drinking…or a combination of the two

Okay. I have no explanation for why I got a better outcome this time compared to last week but I’m trying again. If it fails then I have two choices of backups to restore from.

Welp. Mail appeared okay and then complains about not having enough space in my home folder before quitting. InDesign and Illustrator are fine, so far.

Now Firefox says it cannot save because there's not enough space in my ~/Downloads. Finder says my home folder is 767 GB while it says my total disk space used is 377 GB. Hmm…

This thread is very informative. Their problem manifested like mine and many people have the same issue. There's a serious bug in Catalina related to Migration Assistant and certain Fusion Drives (I replaced the HDD part with an SSD last year). https://discussions.apple.com/thread/250717871?page=10

That can explain why I had none of those problems when I ran Catalina off my cloned system on a external SSD for several hours.
