A day late but doesn't matter. The chashma scene. Abir saw the small, almost unnoticeable thing that was making Mishti uncomfortable- her broken chashma. It might look like just an accessory to others, but specs-wearers know that our glasses are our lifeline, we literally see +
the world through them. Hence they are of utmost importance and being comfortable in them is a real need. A broken pair does more than just appear wonky to the onlooker, it makes everything more difficult for the wearer. Abir did not wear glasses himself yet he was able to put +
himself in her shoes, on his own. And simply because he wanted to make life more relaxed for her, he approached her uncle to ask for her optician, then went to the optician and made a new chashma for her, and paid for it. He passed it off as if it wasn't a big deal but it took +
effort from his side.He probably had to convince the optician to give him Mishtis prescription although he wasn't the patient. Then he must've gone through a selection of frames and picked the one he thought would suit her best. And his choice was simple yet classy, like Mishti.+
And the biggest thing about all this is that he did it selflessly. He didnt make all this effort and spend his money to impress her. He already knew she couldn't be his but that didnt stop him from doing what he could to make her happy and also make her life easier. Unknowingly +
he did way more for her than he'd even planned. She was having a rather tough day, and then he came along and solved one of her unvoiced problems by gifting her a new chashma, the most unexpected gift. It made her feel important on the day she needed it most. And as future +
flashbacks proved, the moment when Abir gifted her the chashma and put it on her saying "nicee!" was one of the times that Mishti fell soft for Abir, even if it was only as a friend at the time. It gave him a permanent place in her heart, which he wasn't even seeking.
Abir gave her something she needed and made her feel beautiful at the same time, as well as recognising and encouraging the confidence she got from her specs which not everyone did. I dare say if Abir hadn't gifted her the new specs then one day later when Kunal wanted her to +
get a surgery done to remove her specs forever, Mishti might have shyed more and given in eventually. Because before that moment her specs were important to her but only she really knew it. She liked looking like her Bade Papa. And Abir liked them because they were a part of her.+
Abir's gift was given out of pure love and care and it reminded Mishti that she is beautiful the way she is. Unmatchable, just everything about this scene. Hands down the best scene I've ever watched between two characters falling in love on ITV.
