I’ve finally figured out the tweet I want to use the Turn Off Replies function for: advising new writers to write specs of existing shows—not to get hired, but to develop their craft. If you don’t agree, feel free not to do it. You’re at the wheel of your own career.
Worst case if you do, it’s never used but you learn about your craft. Worst case if you don’t, you discover a big hole in your game on your first staff and it hurts your career. I think you want to be the strongest writer you can be when you finally get that shot. But you do you.
Dammit, I’m replying to people.
