my cat brought in a baby bird ~ a storytime thread

so peeta (my cat) brought in a baby bird while we were watching the last episode of strong woman and I instantly got gloves on, made him get out of the way, and picked up the lil bird with my hands, cupping it to make sure it was warm/felt safer

then I told my mom abt it and she tried contacting the rehabilitation place near us but they were closed but then one of her friends told her abt this all animal vet we could take it to
so we put it in a lil cardboard box with a pillowcase lining it and got ready to leaveee

I had to drive cuz my mom had had a drink literally right before the bird got brought in but it was cool and nice and luckily I didnt get pulled over or anything cuz my permit has been expired since jan but all the dmvs are closed rn so I havent been able to renew it

me and my sister named the bird felix and what was good was he only had a little injury on one of his legs it didnt look like peeta hurt him anymore than that but cats have lots of bacteria in their mouths that can be really bad for small birds so we still had to take him

the drive was fine and we just listened to some kpop on a low volume and felix kept cheeping in the lil box we put him in the whole ride (I think he likes chungha and mamamoo the most) hes definitely a rapper like the boy hes named after <3

so we got to the vet place n the girl came out n took him n she seemed really nice I liked her she said hi to felix n brought him in then another guy came out and asked us for information then we left

I accidentally drove over the curb/sidewalk when I backed out of the spot because I couldnt sEE but it's fine I'm a professional and no one saw except me, my mom, and my sister

but I think they're just gonna fix felix up and make sure hes alright then maybe contact us to take him back to our property where he came from?? I'm not entirely sure honestly but I think hes gonna be okay <33
