Lately I've been sent a few videos of character channels saying they're quitting and doing their own thing which is cool and their choice but what pisses me off is when they lie about their reasons behind it. The first one being the views going down. (continued.)
For a lot of channels that is. Unless you've been doing it for years or are doing something fresh, the views for most character channels have gone down which is a valid reason to want to do something else or at least change up your content. Channels need to adapt/grow. (cont.)
Personally, I think they owe it to their fans to still keep doing the content which made them get known in the first place even if it's in small doses but if the views decline enough, I guess you don't have much of a choice but the next reason is what annoys me most. (continued.)
And that is those who blame the drama for them quitting. All communities have their fair share of drama. Some more than others but the truth is that they've burnt their bridges in the bigger character channel Discord servers and with the creators but won't admit it. (continued.)
They also won't admit they're the ones who've caused a lot of the drama and own up to the bad things they've done to the people within the community such as, but not limited to: making unneeded rants/exposed videos on people, threatening people, harassment, (continued.)
Sending minions to spy on people and their servers, bullying , sending hackers to threaten/doxx people and other character channels and to go as far as having them taken down.
What's worse is they still have people who will support and defend them after all of that. (continued.)
The third reason I hear is they've lost interest in doing their content which is also a fair reason. However, if they're one of those who've converted/restated as a Sonic character channel after @BulmaBunnyGirl started her new channel, they're likely just clout chasers. (cont.)
I know that from personal experience dealing with one of them. Honestly, I wish these people would at least include some time of public apology and goodwill message in their goodbye videos so they'd at least have some redeeming quality left in them. (continued.)
But conclusion to this thread I guess you can call it, if you're one of those problematic/toxic people leaving then good riddance, you actions helped make the community into what you despise about it. If you aren't one of those people, then best of luck to you moving forward.
