fearless by louis tomlinson & fearless by taylor swift talking about the same theme in a different age-perspective; a thread. 🦋
fearless by taylor swift is a song about things that you do when you're young, when you're messing around with a lover and joking with them and how happy you're when you're young and with somebody you love.
fearless by louis tomlinson is a song about telling someone that lose that feeling of being young and start acting like someone more "mature" when in reality they're changing because that's how "adults" should be, and he's trying to remind that person how it feels to be young.
so, fearless by taylor talks about things you do when you're young and in love:
"Walk me to the car
And you know I wanna ask you to dance right there
In the middle of the parking lot"
and fearless by louis talks about losing all of that and losing your personality for what you think is right:
"Now if happiness is always measured
By the life you design, that car on the drive
Then you should feel better than ever
But you know as well as I, it's all lies"
ts talks about how they'd do whatever they want because she and the person she is with are fearless n young:
"And I don't know how it gets better than this
You take my hand and drag me head first
Fearless
And I don't know why but with you I'd dance
In a storm in my best dress"
lt talks about how the person can't remember being that kind of fearless to be ridiculous without looking if someone is watching them or judging them:
"Tell me the truth, tell me, do you still remember feelin' young
And strong enough to get it wrong in front of all these people?"
the nostalgic feeling of a first love or crush:
"I'm tryin' so hard not to get caught up now
But you're just so cool
Run your hands through your hair
Absent mindedly makin' me want you"
and the feeling of a person who doesn't think of love anymore and just in what's more convenient:
"Cashin' your weekend treasures
For a suit and tie, a second wife
Now I'm not saying that you could've done better
Just remember that I, I've seen that fire alight"
so, when i talk about the songs talking about the same thing, i talk about how taylor tells us a story about things that you do when you're young and fearless. and louis tells us a story about someone losing all these things, and+
becoming a different person who doesn't enjoy things, a person with fear, a person totally different of what it was in a young age, just because that's how it supposed to be.
