I REALLY don’t agree with selling things in Animal Crossing for ACTUAL money. Seems extremely unethical, especially when the items are available to everyone eventually. Making it pay to win essentially. But I guarantee if Nintendo offered paid DLC or offered Nook Miles for money
You’d all be on your soapboxes screaming about “Nintendo are money grabbing!!!!” “Nintendo don’t care about their poor fans!!!” “Animal Crossing has lost its wholesome feel!!!!” I understand the world is at a standstill and people are losing their jobs at a record pace... but
I really don’t think it’s an excuse to profit off of something that isn’t yours to profit off. It’s taking advantage of young people, especially those who feel societal pressure to have the best of the best. It’s like when Pokémon cards were a big thing and everyone
HAD to have a shiny Charizard, so you begged your parents to buy you as many packs as possible to increase your chance - pester power is a strong thing and if you dangle highly sought after items in their faces, they’re more than likely going to bite. Sometimes I wish that
New Horizons hadn’t been released. It’s tainted all memories I have associated with it since Wild World & makes me not really want to be a part of the online community.
I used to spend HOURS just fishing and catching bugs but even I feel the pressure of having a “perfect town” and the most rare furniture - it’s almost like a power status. Same with followers and this whole “skinny ratio” - it’s just so toxic. Why can’t people just play nicely.
