THREAD
I’m so sick of vegan fellas trying to replicate every dish to match taste & texture of meat. WTF is vegan meat, vegan chicken or vegan eggs. It’s high time we name vegan food with the respect it deserves.
When you try to replicate a meat dish with plant based food, you’re normalizing that meat flavor & texture is normal for human consumption. It’s about time seitan, tofu, tempeh & other plant based ingredients deserve its true name in culinary world.
I get it, most of us grew up eating meat & animal products, but it’s time to change the concept. If you tell a kid, here’s a chicken of woods or tempeh bacon, it’s gonna kick a curiousity about how the chicken or bacon is suppose to taste like.
Don’t normalize those flavors. Culinary world is beyond limits. Create new flavors, textures and most definitely names for the dishes. Next time you call a dish as vegan chicken or meat, remember you’re not helping the cause to it’s maximum potential.
I do not intend to hurt anyone but it’s about time we change the way we think about vegan food. Use your creativity instead of just making everything into meat lookalike.
