An interchange is ongoing at Obosi and a road leading from there to second Niger bridge. This means opening up of Obosi-Oba areas for bigger investments. Now our government @WillieMObiano @SenUcheEkwunife @stellaoduah @IfeanyiAniagoh has a job to do
The job is;
First, to make sure that the both sides of the road(road fronts) leading to second Niger bridge will contain majorly high rise office complexes, malls and ultramodern investments. No tenant houses. You will have to specify for the land owners what must be built there
We have made great mistakes by not developing our river Niger fronts and the Enugu-Onitsha road fronts on the Niger bridge area which is the gateway to Anambra. Another gateway is opening up for us and we must give a modern city appeal to visitors and attract modern investments
Secondly, most area of land within the second Niger bridge road is still deserted. Let plans be made for gentrification of those areas and also creating things like golf course etc, then the part closer to the bridge will be left as Harbour industrial layout extension
Finally, there should be a policy preventing investors from building tenant houses just beside the road within that Obosi-Oba areas(Owerri road) too from now.. Let them build more office complexes, Tech hubs, diagnostic centres etc. Then create enough car parks within those areas
The time to act is now because I'm very sure people are already buying up land over there. Before you know it, they will start building sporadically without any plans or directions
