Google Image Search suggests "alien 1979 john hurt", which, thanks Google, I recognized John Hurt. Which one is the alien?

I guess this was a movie? I guess John Hurt plays an alien who makes friends at a diner?

John Hurt and Yaphet Kotto seem like a good Troy and Abed kinda pair. I'd watch those two together, I wonder if they ever made any more of these movies.

I did some research and apparently they made a lot more of these movies! Including something called "Prometheus" but that one didn't have Yaphet Kotto and John Hurt so I'm not sure it's canon. Interesting stuff, though!
