kinks are good actually.
Don't let a lot of the really fucked up anti-kink anti-fantasy sex negative bullshit out there make you feel ashamed for a queerness or weirdness in your sexual fantasy spaces.
Don't act it out in ways that harm people, but get off with other consenting adults however you want.
there's a _lot_ of chilling effect bs going on in the world right now and there's a lot of pressure to be a very unproblematic narrow definition of queerness, because capital has made huge inroads into our spaces. and is eroding and selling our culture back to us.
A lot of folks don't realize it yet, especially because you have a lot of media telling you that being queer is okay, but the creeping anti-kink sex-negativity is a baited hook to allow conservative political forces to control your spaces.
Things have not always been as they are now. My mom told me about growing up going to dances in her 20s where she couldn't show her ankles. This backlash is on some next level meta-reactionary shit, the ironic "holding hands is lewd" is fun right up until it isn't ironic anymore
low key, It's not "horseshoe theory" it's "Fascism is a parasitic tribalist outlook that can infiltrate and co-opt additional and even CONFLICTING ideologies if you're not careful."
it starts with shit like "Kink doesn't belong at pride." Despite the long history of queer leatherpeople, these sexual minorities were socially ostracizable and deviant back in the day, but now we're kicking them out because it's bad for our "image?"
that's respectability politics, and that shit does not work. That shit is bootlicker mentality, and you don't even have the ability to fuck up queer spaces with that thinking if it weren't for the openly "problematic" people before you.
what have we seen from the war on drugs?
that oppressive harsh laws, and massive overreach and penalizing deviance is the path to producing a moral society that no longer has any issues ever cause uhhhh don't think it's worked.
stop re-perpetrating "moral majority" horseshit.
again, ya'll hated mayo pete but you're doing everything in your power to build his version of queer culture.
