I am starting to question my relationship with writing. Is it really just a hobby?

Someone from my past: Why do you spend so much time writing if you can’t monitize it?

Him: OMG, please continue writing. Do it for yourself. Who knows where it’ll lead you (proceed to share poems, movies about writing and continue reading things I wrote)

Finally I am taking a somewhat serious step into writing, but it is hella scary. I am not sure with what I am doing but I am excited. I always go back to this thread whenever I think about how I got to this point, this project I am working on. Imagine getting a support like this. He was there during the ideation phase and he is seeing it slowly come to live.
