Had a bunch of extra bananas, so I decided to try @robicellis banana upside down cake from @thetakeout. Got everything ready, prepared the topping and batter and stuck it in the oven https://thetakeout.com/recipe-caramelized-banana-upside-down-cake-or-bread-1842903507">https://thetakeout.com/recipe-ca...
Around this time, we heard some tree guys in the neighbor& #39;s yard, who were finally going to remove a giant dead pine tree that was threatening to fall on our house.
With about fifteen minutes left on the cake, we heard a huge crash. Then the power went out.
Never mind that it& #39;s a 90+ degree day and we now had no AC, what about that cake?!
Well, about two hours later, the power company got our power going again, so I cautiously opened the oven to check on the ruined cake.
Guess what! It passed the toothpick test! Even though it wasn& #39;t at 350, it was still hot enough to finish the cake over a longer period of time!
Gave it a flip and voila! (almost) Perfect!
Addendum: Internet is also out. @Xfinity doesn& #39;t seem to believe me, because they keep telling me there& #39;s no outage, and that I just need to reset my modem, even though I can see the downed cable in the yard.
