I'm mad.

I'm mad as a former employee of Public Health Ontario. I served with one goal in mind: serving public health in the best interests of the people of Ontario, their health and well-being.

I am horrified we don't know where and how infection is happening.

To say this is unacceptable isn't enough.

It's a despicable, inexcusable, incomprehensible failure.

People are getting sick and dying because of this simple lapse.

I'm brokenhearted but I'm angry because lives are being recklessly endangered.
This would be like firefighters showing up to a house fire with no hoses.

It boggles the mind.

That's how how devastating a lapse this is.
We are not a society without means.

We are a very, very rich society.

This. Should. Not. Be. Happening.

Something has gone terribly wrong that is not happening in other places.

This is not a "well everyone got it wrong" scenario. We have blown way beyond that now.
I still have the utmost confidence in our public health officials, even after detecting some of their mistakes communicating from the earliest days of this calamity.

From my safe, comfortable refuge far from the front lines. And far from the command table.

Total confidence.
I know whatever has gone terribly wrong, cannot be them. It just can't be.

It has to be something else beyond their reach.

Where the buck stops.
