Please do spread the word that a popular ice cream spot in Angier, NC called Sunny Sky's which has been featured on the Food Network is not providing PPE to its staff or requiring that employees wear it.

They are spewing respiratory droplets all over their ice cream cones,...
...which cannot be reheated.

They are putting a community with large elderly, Black and Latinx populations at risk.

I hope their business fails.
This is a local and beloved business which last week put immunocompromised members of my family at risk in the drive-through line, in which cars get trapped and unable to leave once they're able to see that no one is wearing masks.
Owned by a New York family that moved South for lower taxes and fewer regulations.

"New York is not sending their best people..."
From what I've seen over many years, they only employ very young teenagers.
Masks are "optional but encouraged" for NC food workers, which is bullshit.

But responsible employers are providing them to employees and making them mandatory.

Irresponsible employers should be shamed into doing the right thing.
The roughly 75 members of my extended family across four generations who live in that area will never be back.
They were loyal weekly customers too.
This shit makes me so mad.

Putting people at risk over ice cream.
I'm about to call them at this number, which is publicly available on Yelp and not a private number as is standard for businesses.

To complain and let them know none of us will be back.
Again, that's a public business number that people call to place takeout orders and things, so I'm not breaking any rules here in this thread.
But I do hope that North Carolina people in particular will see this and pass it along because we don't have time for shit businesses killing people right now.
