i not only do this because i defend my fav, i also do it because i believe that rape isn't an issue that a group of brainless children can talk about so easily, it's a serious thing and the victims of it deserve respect. they can't use the word just because they hate a character.

that same day to night caroline and damon meet in the grill parking lot, he apologizes for scaring her and she tells her that she hoped to see him again, and they leave together. damon never used compulsion, he never forced her. it's clear that caroline wanted to be with him

the ONLY explicit scene about them and they're not even having sex. he was kissing her, biting her, feeding on her and the scene was over. she clearly screams because she wasn't compelled and saw his vampire face. she was about to have sex with him because she wanted

the next day when caroline wakes up she's fully clothed. how do you fuck someone in clothes? and she's still scared because at no point while they kissed she was compelled!!!

damon tells caroline to choose a blue dress (without compulsion) and she refuses because she doesn't like blue. the compulsion works this way, damon forced caroline so that she doesn't be afraid of him, but not for her to do everything he asks.

again, damon tells caroline to do something and she refuses. which means the compulsion doesn't work for everything, including having sex, it just works so she's not afraid of him

finally, damon had to use compulsion again for caroline to do what he said. it's not enough to use compulsion so she doesn't be afraid of him, she could keep making her own decisions.

the same's always repeated. caroline's compelled not to take off her scarf but when damon asks her to go to the kitchen she refuses and he has to use compulsion again because SHE'S NOT COMPELLED TO DO WHATEVER HE WANTS

when damon abandons caroline she suffers and gets sad bc her feelings for him were real, she was compelled not to be afraid of him and in punctual things like not taking off her damn scarves, in everything else she was aware, there's no damon scene forcing caroline to fuck!

the same thing happened with andie. she flirted with damon first, had sex without needing him to use compulsion. she was just compelled not to be afraid.

both were forced not to be afraid, that doesn't mean they do exactly everything damon asks, he has to use compulsion again for that and there's no scene where damon uses compulsion to have sex with them.

this doesn't mean that damon didn't mistreat them. he did, he used them as bags of blood. but this is something that all vampires did, if we're going to hate one for doing that we should hate all.

if you've finished reading this thread and still think damon's a rapist you should check that your neurons are working properly
