So since September 2014, I've worked in the advertising industry as a copywriter. And over that time, I've created and worked on quite a few ads.

This is my version of "my time in the ad space"

A thread inspired by @Mister_Otu
I think this is the first TV ad i wrote that got shot. Kid was a super star. The chick? Not so much
Very proud of this one. Won a Gong Gong
As a basketball guy, I gotta say, I'm not happy with how this one turned out. But that's what you get when you don't fly the copywriter to the shoot 🤷🏿‍♂️
This was supposed to be my Nike moment, but they just had to make it about their promo🙄
So I did a lot of MILO stuff because I worked for @PublicisAfrica and Nestle is their major client. Again, I didn't get flown to this shoot, but funny enough, I was in SA at the same time they were shooting. And no, I didn't meet Drogba. His part was shot in Canada
S/O to @The9thKing. He came up with the 'Bie Mu' idea and the whole Borga 10 Pounds persona.

Fun fact 1: I starred in one of these ads, but it never saw the light of day.

Fun fact 2: This campaign actually helped boost @GuinnessGhana market share
Best time I've had on set. I had absolutely FULL reign on this. This launched my hand modelling career (most close up serving shots are my hands)
S/O @kemistgold
this isn't a tv ad, but its the work I'm the proudest of. It's label design work & i obviously didn't design it myself, but it's my idea and i think its great... was inspired by the jordan episode of @AbstractNetflix S/O PY & Les for making it happen
Then I took my talents to @OgilvyGhana and had a little fun with @airtelgh S/O @kemistgold for shooting this and Jamana for coming up with the original idea
There's a second one, because is it really a campaignable ad if you can't make multiple versions?
This was for @UNICEFGhana for the @gacaghana campaign. We actually shot this twice. first time, the SA guys we paid a fortune did a terrible job. luckily my man @kemistgold saved my ass
Then the Coca-Cola Era. This was the first Coca-Cola TV ad I wrote, i think. Boy did I have a lot to learn
World Cup was a busy time for me working on Coke. This is my former CD's baby. I just helped a little with the scripting
Pretty sure @stingg_ wrote this originally. I just gave some one or two light touches
Now these next four are the toughest ads I've worked on from scripting to shooting. And its crazy because they were global scripts we had to adapt for the west african and islands markets.
But I basically had to take the original scripts apart, put them back together in a way that made sense for the west african & islands markets, but still be damn near exactly like the original
Same thing with this spot.
So it was two scripts, each shot twice with totally different cast. Over a 5-day period. Was lucky enough to be on set for all four. learned so much about shooting ads in that week. so much
then there's the vodafone ad i wrote. the edits were supposed to be Edgar Wright-esque but the director didn't see my vision. you win some, you lose some
worked directly with the then Marketing Director of Coca-Cola WABU on this script. blessing and a curse, because he wanted my stamp on all Coke work even in the East African market. dont think the ogilvy kenya copywriters liked me very much.
then my 'viral' moment https://twitter.com/saladinahmed/status/878941924773830657?s=20
