a thread on why camille o’connell & caroline forbes are two completely different characters and shouldn’t be compared

to start off, let’s look at some of their similarities. the fact that they’re both blondes, their names start with c and klaus mikaelson. that’s it. that’s about as far as their similarities go.

let’s look at them as humans first (took traits on their wiki pages). as a human, cami is described as intelligent, confident, brave, compassionate & courageous. as a human, caroline is described as insecure, neurotic, shallow. these personalities are different from each other.

as vampires cami is described (a bit harder to do as she was only a vamp for a certain amount of time) as impulsive & someone who struggles with a dark side. caroline is described as strong in self-control, mature, confident. again, very different ways of describing them.

they also both have different interests. cami was a psychologically major whereas caroline chose to go with drama (two largely different majors which highlight their personality differences as well)

both also had different reasons for wanting to stay a vampire. cami wanted to so she could have the strength to help other people whereas it was implied that caroline liked being one because she felt free & fearless. again, two different reasons.
