Communication as a field has a long history of disciplinary insecurities that have kept us from making meaningful contributions to the wicked policy problems of our time. Treating #COVID19 narrowly as a knowledge deficit " #misinformation" problem risks making same mistake again.

By definition, “[p]olicy decisions will go beyond the best available science ... This means that scientists ... are not the only authoritative voice.” As we wrote in @ISSUESinST, we need communication scholars to help navigate this new #COVID19 world. https://issues.org/covid-19-communication-war/
