i definitely don't think it's akin to horrible persecution and oppression or anything so don't take this as me being a secret meninist but on a personal level i honestly really dislike the whole "men are all inherently terrible trash" genre of tweets

i get a lot of it is venting and mostly just annoys me on a personal level. but also IMO, besides framing shitty male behaviour as inherent & deterministic rather than deliberate choices, the idea that every man is terrible kinda fails folks who date men& are in bad relationships

if someone dates men and is in a relationship with a shitty man, acting as though all men are horrible and terrible kinda furthers the idea that there are no better men out there and that people who want to date have to condemn themselves to a relationship that makes them unhappy

many great men exist, and no one has to settle for someone they don't like bc of the idea that dating men means suffering + misery! it doesn't mean that! and shitty men aren't born that way. they make choices and we shouldn't let them off the hook by pretending it's their nature

beyond all those ideological reasons i also just find those tweets annoying and tacky lol
