1/ Perhaps an unpopular view. Rather than adding to the experience, all these attempts to fill the void of empty stadiums with virtual fans and artificial crowd noise/cheering etc is only going to highlight what& #39;s actually missing. Nothing can substitute the emotion of real fans.
2/ With sport restarting in empty stadiums around the world it will be completely different, and yes sadly a poorer experience from a TV standpoint, but that& #39;s ok. It& #39;s return marks a positive step in the recovery, a sign that the worst might of the pandemic might be behind us.
3/ Let& #39;s celebrate that and look forward to the day when fans can attend again. In the meantime as an industry think about what we can do to leverage this moment and genuinely connect with fans without resorting to gimmicks.
4/ just like the days when static fence signage transitioned to digital lets remember "just because technology means you can, doesn& #39;t mean you should" Discuss.
