First, I want to start off with reminding you that YAMAGUCHI IS SMART AS HELL. He might be in Tsukishima's shadow a lot, BUT HE'S IN HONORS CLASSES TOO, AND YOU GET INTO THOSE OUT OF YOUR OWN HARD WORK. DON'T UNDERESTIMATE THAT BOY'S INTELLIGENCE
Second, he has never put in a popularity poll. Don't get me wrong, I love my boy very very much, but he would never win one or it would be way too close for comfort. Why put yourself in that situation?
Third, his task with Tsukishima. I know everyone thought that to be a pretty tame choice after the last one with Kuroo and Kenma considering that Kenma had to choose who he would STAB. Pulling and smashing teeth is painful, but it's not deadly.
Fourth, meeting Tsukishima. This is the big one. My biggest pointer is that the meet-up rule had already been established and yet... only Tsukishima got punished? Yamaguchi got away scotch free.
In addition, Yams never tells the group he went to meet Tsukki in the park. That would raise too many suspicions of course!
Even after "Tsukishima" comes back and reveals his Kindaichi hint, YAMAGUCHI DOESN'T MENTION GOING TO THE PARK!! OR KNOWING ABOUT THE KINDAICHI HINT FROM THE BEGINNING
Oh, I forgot to talk about this hint.
I agree w/ ppl who say "One of us" means someone in the game. However, Iwa obvs doesn't know the name of the person, just has seen enough of him to recognize him.
