I find white people who say ‘I’m not racist I hate everyone lol’ conflate dislike with hate when it’s convenient.

They’re not the same.

But also racism isn’t just hate - you can practice racism without hateful intent.

Even if true, hate impacts people differently.

If you’re leaning into prejudice from a position of systemic power you’re still racist.

You can ‘hate’ other white people but you’re still supported by them.

You can’t disavow white privilege by simply hating other white people.

Just because you aren’t specifically targeting someone for their race doesn’t mean you aren’t participating in a system that does.

It always comes down to anti-racism being actual work.
