If you think this is just manufactured outrage and Twitter bullshit you may be right to an extent in that it’s not the type of controversy that usually lasts too long. But Trump and his people are the result of decades of direct mail, disciplined unified messaging.
They’ll repeat this and other attacks over and over on Fox and at rallies etc., forcing the media to cover it well past this weekend.
Yes this will happen to anyone running against Trump. No the candidate does not have to be a Rube Goldberg machine that spits out racist/sexist Leave it to Beaver aphorisms every fourth day when he’s cogent enough to appear on tv for ten minutes.
